We have prepared a special place for you, a spiritual,

A long time ago, somewhere around the year 1300 AD, an Indian holy man was travelling through Bali teaching the secrets of the Hindu tradition. During his journey he became ill. He eventually reached the place where two rivers meet, called Campuhan, but by this time he was so sick it was thought he would surely die.
Word spread throughout the region about the terrible illness of this wandering Sadu. A Balian (Balinese spiritual healer), came to offer the holy man help. The simple but profound faith of the Balian and the extraordinary local herbs he used turned the tide of the holy man's illness, and he soon recovered.
Before the holy man continued his journey, he named the area "Obod" which means wellness, health or medicine in the Balinese language. Over the centuries the name slightly changed to "Ubud", the name we use today for this area.
Sari, meaning "essence" in the Indonesian language, completes the name of our resort - UBUD SARI - the "essence of healing".
