Puri Bagus Candidasa beachfront is located on the easternmost resort area of Candidasa. The village of Tenganan. the walled-in home to the Balinese Aga community, often named the original Balinese, is just a few minutes drive from the hotel. The Regency of Karangasem where Candidasa is located, holds sites of diverse tourist interest. such as the historic Water Palace of Tirtagangga and Tulamhen the diving site of the USS "Liberty". sunk during the Second World War. The underwater coral gardens of the two small islands just off the hotel's beachfront have long captivated divers in search of the beauty of the marine world. Natural landscapes are a source of artistic inspiration and the nearby village of Sidemen was much vounted by the German painter-musician Walter Spies.
