Bali's
best nightspots are in the south, the traditional gathering place
for young and restless travelers. Legian has become the club town,
with discos and after-hours bars that keep night owls going until
dawn. Kuta and Tuban, just south of Legian, reverberate 24 hours
with the sounds of pop and heavy metal from big bars. In the south,
look for bar-discount coupons, distributed by numerous local bars.
Many restaurants and bars provide free transport to and from area
hotels - a cheap and easy way to stay safe if you're heading out
to party. Although the south doesn't have the deep-rooted cultural
traditions of other parts of Bali, you can still find cultural
performances here. Most take place at the larger hotels, many
of which schedule Balinese dance nights combined with an Indonesian
buffet.
